The wife and I loaded up the Duc and headed down to the Olympic Penninsula for the May long weekend. Weather was pretty decent and we saw no rain till Acme in Washington on the way back. Slight sprinkle at Deception Pass but it didn't last long. The border at Sumas took all of 15 mins to get through yay for us!! I'll see if I can document in order. Enjoy!!

first stop for lunch

On to La Push. The temp went from 18 degrees and sunny with coudy periods to foggy and 8 degrees down at the water. Very Very spectacular view though. This place would be awsome to see in the sunshine.

We stopped at a roadside at a small community called Klaloch. The ocean was crashing out there and the waves were curling awsome!! Surprisingly enough....no one was surfing!!

We traveled just shy of 1200K's and while I realize it's not Iron Butt proportions, it was done 2up on a Ducati 848!! Kim got many applaudes from motorcyclists we met along the way for doing such a trip on the back of such a bike with a back pack. We'll be investing in the Ventura rack system and planning more trips of longer distance very soon!!

I understand getting good pics of the bike trip are hard!

PK.. I never asked, how does the lady like the Butty Buddy. Is it just tolerable or REALLY good?

her butt was great. she loved it. it's well worth the dollars spent on it. we did just over 400K's the 2nd day and she was stiff from being in one position for so long but her butt was great. she had a back pack which didn't help any in the comfort department. the Ventura system is coming up very soon. gonna make a weekend trip of picking that up also. i fixed the pic. somehow one of the ] got left off the final tag. i forgot to mention the coupe de gras for the Buttybuddy......we pulled into the Keystone ferry terminal behind 2 Goldwings and a Harley bagger we had been following since we left the Deception Bay lookout. nice people coming down from Kelowna to Pt Angeles. we all started talking and the 2 Goldwings were 2up and the women come over rubbing their backsides and complaining about having sore asses when the one takes one look at Kim, looks at the bike and the seat and shouts over to her friend that they should shut up cause what they were riding on was a couch compared to Kim's seat and calls her over to take a look. the guy on the Harley Bagger asks how far we've come and then proceeds to shake Kim's hand. Kim's backside was fine and when she heard the women complaining about the seats on the Goldwings, she felt pretty good about things.

Now I know why they call it Deception Pass......Here's your GATORADE(or insert your favourite sports drink here)I'll pass it to you. !!!Oops I tossed it over the log,it's down there, can you get that heh heh heh.......sneak attack, and of course,no witness would notice the horror because they would be transfixed with the beauty of the Ducati mere feet away from the heinous crime...

All this talk of the Olympic Pennisula I may head to La Push and camp on the beautiful beach. May head down the Hood canal and west to Aberdeen and up to Forks to avoid the boring Hwy around Port Angeles. I've been to Neah Bay a few times. Then head down to Cannon Beach
