Not too epic, but today was a good day for a ride despite the morning showers between Surrey and Hope. After Hope it dried up nicely in the canyon and for the rest of the day.
First thing in the a.m. didn't look too promising outside the garage, but might as well get used to it, this is the climate we live in.

By the time I arrived at Hope, not much better. Several showers along the slab. I thought about turning back, but naah ....

Canyon was nice and clear, with a few construction spots along the way. No more than 5 minutes wait at any time.

Good old Spences Bridge, I never get tired of this road. There was some construction going on from Spences to Merritt direction, lots of dust/dirt in that lane direction but nothing a good rain can't take care of.

One of many classic Spences Bridge - Merritt curves.

Merritt to Spences Bridge is a rad highway. Did it a few weeks ago in the direction opposite yours.

This used to be the gas station at Spences Bridge. The pumps never worked properly anyway.

The last two pics are of the river along the highway from Spences Bridge to Lytton.

I did it both directions today, thinking Manning Park would be freezing cold (that's unreal, it's already June). It was chilly all day today, heated vest stayed plugged in.

Here's me in my new orange vest. I look like a dork I know.

Hey Anna, I'm still on holidays dammit! If you recall, my Inuvik trip was foiled by two ice-jammed river crossings north of Eagle Plains. I returned early, and decided not to go back to work until next week as scheduled.
As for the vest, I chose orange over yellow intentionally because it looks less LE-like. BK had a bright yellow Vanson piece but it was way too much like a police vest. I'd probably get kicked off one of my own rides.
Anyway I only tried it on today for the first time. It has cool extra pockets. :rockon

Looks like you also got a new camera also, Steve.
I'll PM you for a ride in the coming weeks when the weather is better.
