My GOD!! That's nice kit! You've got to tell us how you got this thing into Canada. My buddies got a Brutale, got it in under the wire before they closed the door on them.
We were at the MV factory in Verese last week, during a bike factory tour in Italy. We noticed that the MV factory was very clean, floors, everything, almost like a hospital,m very cool. The lady REP who walked through with us said that there will be MV's for sale in Canada next yr.

A warm welcome to the MV Owners group - a rather small group here in BC - only 2 others that I know of with new MV's properly licenced for BC. I have not seen anyone take the plunge since 2005, so am glad to see your bike - it's a beauty alright the 1000 is a fantastic package and you have the limited Senna - Oh Boy! I gather the photos are taken in Blaine - have you imported yet, or are you keeping it State side?

I have had my Brutale since 2005, only 12,000kms on it still - I do all my own service and maintenance. It is very reliable, chews up tires.

One word - INTOXICATING - that is the RPM's above 10,0000!

Cheers

I see...is this why the only other owner of an MV is in White Rock aka. the Canadian Tijuana?i saw a Senna model at a local performance shop in Port Coquitlam last week. i can't remember the exact details of how it ended up in Canada but it's apparently registered. something to do with Canada DOT thinking it's a bucket of parts put together. either way it's stunning. it's wrapped in some nicely painted CF and getting some exotic stuff put on it.

U-build or track only, take your pick...

Well, back before 2005, the list did allow all year Cagiva bikes in under the umbrella of Ducati. It seemed Transport Canada allowed their list to lapse after Ducati was sold off and no longer part of the Cagiva empire in the late 1990's. They deleted Cagiva from the list in Feb 2005.

MV's are officially titled by Cagiva USA as the manufacturer, and the make is MV Agusta - so it wasn't a problem back then. Two other MV bikes and mine made it into BC only weeks before the list was changed, plus I heard there are a few more in Alberta and a bunch in Ontario/Quebec.

I suspect that now Harley are major owners (51%), the bikes should be eventually titled under Harley Davidson as manufacturer with the make MV Agusta - that would put them back on the list in my opinion, as ALL HD's are admissible. Caveat here is getting the Harley Davidson title - may not be possible for pre-Aug 2008 bikes. Lots of legal loop holes in this I predict.

I see...is this why the only other owner of an MV is in White Rock aka. the Canadian Tijuana?

My bike is garaged in White Rock, with BC plates, all legal - Amigo.

Your a fool it has nothing to do with price and if the two bikes were side by side they wouldn't even notice the duck IMO . Besides your right two for the price of one:rockon. Next bike the Benneli Tre lets see a twin a triple and a 4 ha ha .
But seriously I love all types of bikes and for me its the Senna that has special meaning to me, as i had the privilege to meet the man the legend back in 85 wen he was 1st starting in F1.

As of right now am in no hurry to bring the bike over I had chance to bye it so I did. The riding season is almost over for me.
When I get the icth to ride I can always put it in my trailer and head down south. Its only 45 mins away that's shorter then a trip to Vancouver in rush hour so I dont know what's the big deal.

Clearly, Leoxx has a great taste in bikes....and he owns em. Last time I checked guys who own higher end bikes didn't slay others. BTW, is your 2003 F4i just a cover for your desmo, or are you just sick with envy!!!

How does that work? I understand that if you have a property (eg. summer home) you could have a bike/car with ins. but I am not sure if this is true. I tried to find out if I could buy a Tesi 3D (keep it just across the line in a storage place) and go riding down there. I never found anyone who could help me this way.
Here you have all sorts of tourists who come and buy a motorhome and ins it. They just need an address and off they go. They must be wanting to do this down south too.

I have heard also that one can bring in a bike as parts and rebuild it. It is then inspected as a ubuild and given a BC VIN. The bike will have a nice blue VIN on it and the make will be ubuild.

while i know it's possible,i've been told a canadian can't insure a u.s.reg vehicle properly.if it were true the flood gates would open as the avg insurance cost is peanuts compared to here.just givin a headsup you might not be covered when you think you are

My parents owned a 35 ft boat moored out at Lumi Island for 15 yrs, it required insurance, and it was no problem. Had they brougfht it across the border [just south of Saturna Island] it would have meant a world of shite! I think their mailing adress in Custer, WA might have helped.

Yes I have a U.S address the bike is fully insured even if I bring it across the border they still insured it as long as it has a U.S address. If anyone has other legal questions you can pm me as I will not do it on an open forum.

I think the ubuilt is the way to go right now like i said earlyer am in no rush.

Depends how you bring it across. If you try to ride it across with WA plates and a Canadian passport/drivers license, they'll tell you to park the bike and walk across. No Canadian can cross the border driving a US registered vehicle, period. If you import it as a track bike/off road only, you'll only pay tax, but you won't be able to register it here for road use (unless you want to take it apart and mail it to yourself).

Yes, the only way to currently get an MV Agusta into Canada is to take the bike completely apart within the USA and import it as motorcycle parts. Once you get the bike back to Canada you re-assemble and register it as a U-Build.
I know this way works as I just did it :)
If your looking for carbon fiber bodywork for the MV loe, let me know I can help you out.
