My brother is looking for a sport car and it has to be a import. I told him to buy a camaro IROC but he doesn't want a mulletmobile, I used to own a 91 z-28. The cars he's lookin at are a 94 turbo supra, new WRX, 93-94 turbo rx-7, 90-93 turbo 300 zx. The cheapest car he has found is a 91 turbo 300zx for $16000 but is rough lookin. My cousin has a 94 turbo supra but its an automatic but fast, sort of feels like a tank that car. I don't really want him to buy the rx-7 because its a rotary engine but that car is the nicest looking. Anybody know any good auto shops that do good work on tubo imports so I can give them a call and see what they say?
how old is your brother, and is he ready for the responsibility, and maintenance of these cars?
I have a 94 Supra Turbo, and they need a lot of attention, and can't be neglected too much. They are better than the rest of the cars you mentioned in terms of speed and quality, but also more expensive.
I've also had a 300ZX twinturbo, and they are great cars. If this is his first car, he should consider a Z cause they are cheap right now, but very hard to work on.
RX7 is the most beautiful non-supercar. Again, the proper care of this car will prove rewarding, but any neglect at all, will result in the search of a new motor.
WRX is nice, and new. Don't know much about this car, but it seems that your bro wants something with turbo. Be prepared for large repair bills. I'm not saying these cars are prone to breaking, but they are getting old, and turbo's are very expensive to replace/rebuild.
I think there prone to breaking cause of the OBSCENE amounts of horsepower that you cars make:)
or should i say made

I would say to get an RX7, but not if he knows nothing about rotaries. Sure the supra will always be that one step ahead in the straights but when it comes to handling the Rx7 has everything beat. If he was gonna leave the car stock then he would also have no problems. I am getting one as soon as I have the cash and it is gonna haul ass when I am done with it :D
Plus if he does decide to get the RX7, I know lots of people out here that has every year of rx7 from 79 to 95 and they could help him out every step of the way if needed.

It is one kick ass resource that helps a lot. ;)

I used to have NOS on my car, it was FUN
NOS is actually quite safe if it is installed correctly and is not abused
go to chapters one of the magazines, (European) fast bike, or super bike etc, i cant remember which one did a write up on NOS
it may still be on the shelf if the new ones havent come out yet

Manny,
If your bro is into turbo cars he may not want to look at a Camaro, they are two completely different beasts..
Turbo vs Muscle is like an inline 4 compared to a v-twin. One is light and nimble, one has stump pulling torque and is fairly nimble.
I'm considering a turbo car next (since I sold my Camaro)... I wouldn't mind trying something different.
One peice of advice I've been told several times.. Try to stay away from high mileage turbo cars, it'll be more maintenance than most are used to. Thats not to say they are a bad buy, just that they will need a little more TLC.
Jim.

Well my bro is looking into a 300zx twin turbo now, he wants to spend under $20,000 so it will be a 90-93 car. I hear the v6 in the nissan is very strong but the turbos may need work. I was lookin in the Los Angeles auto trader and found some 400 hp 1990 300zx giong for 14,000 american. Maybe a trip down to LA is in order.

I too want to add Nos to my bike and as soon as I find the article I will post the link for the how to's.
Only thing is even if Nos is perfectly set up wont it still do harm to the engine:confused Even if you dont abuse it.

all you need for 400hp on the Z are
1. intake
2. exhaust
3. JWT ECU upgrade
The Z community call it the stage 3 upgrade.
