So, what's up with everybody using "naked" when they mean standard (riding position)??? There's nothing "naked" about a bike being a standard, and there's nothing about a bike with a standard riding position that says it has to be naked. My TL1000S was a deliciously naked SuperSport bike. If your bike's a naked standard, call it that. Language matters.

i always thought bike's like the tl1000s weren't naked, but 'bikini-faired'. for a truly naked bike there's no fairing at all . . . .

Just think of bikes like the Z with a headlight fairing as being like crotchless panties...... :D

Well I hafta stand behind stily on this one ... a 'standard' is a Honda CB 750 ... a TL is a half-fairing (I can live with bakini fairing) sport bike. Wanna know the difference?? 'Standards' look best wif a milk crate bungeed on the back. :roflmao :roflmao :roflmao :roflmao

Based on Stily's definition, it's a standard. Ouch.

Very confused, what is official definition of:
Standard -
Naked - this I can guess, bike with no fairing at all. So bikes with 1/2 fairing, bikini fairing are not technically naked?

I always thought "standard" had more to do with riding position than fairings??

No one really. But it's at least as pertinent as some of the other drivel around here.

What are you talking about? Yes, it is a naked standard. The motor is visible (naked) and the bars are high resulting in an upright seating position (standard).

Basically, if the seat and handle bar position have you riding in a pretty upright position (kinda like sitting in a chair) then that's a standard.
If the bike has no fairings at all, then it's a naked.
