View Full Version : Summons to court
Has anybody ever received a "Summons to a Person Charged With An Offence" letter. Apparently my mom received a stopping violation in Feb, and doesn't ever remember getting it. She's not sure if she ever received it in the mail either.
What I would like to know is if I can go and just pay out whatever the ticket is now and have this cancelled. She's currently out of the country on vacation and won't be back for another month and I don't want her stressed about this.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Why don't you call the police department that issued the ticket and ask them? There might be a number on the letter.

You can always do what a friend of mine does.
File it in the trash.
it doesn't sound right. if she was issued a ticket, she has 30 days to dispute or she is automatically found guilty, and fine is due. she would end up having to pay it at license or insurance renewal. since it was in feb, i'd say the 30 days are long up. they wouldn't issue a summons; you'd get a notice of the fine along with your renewal papers.
make some phone calls to the issuer. you may end up with a phone call to victoria to get the right answers.

Got a ticket, but the address for where i was ticketed was wrong.
eg// 12000 Granville AVE instead it was suppose to be 12000 Street
where should i send the letter and say that i'm not guilty, it just say if u want to dispute wait for the summon..

Yes I've got one.
Call the PD as someone said see whats up. or you can do what I do what I did and flee the country only to return on a different identity.

yes i did turn the ticket over and i didn't read it upside down.
it doesn't give an address. it' just tells me to go on the website to pay by credit card
for dispute: wait for summon in the mail
