Some manufactures offer a free x-ray service for helmets that have been dropped. Take it up for the peace of mind, buy a new one, or just add stickers and pretend it didn't happen. :noevil

Small drops should not be an issue..... I took a 5 year old helmet and smacked her with the biggest hammer in my garage... it did not crack... just scratches and paint chips....just wanted to see how much direct force it could take....my hand hurt more than the helmet did....lol

The outside shell is only one part of the equation... the styrofoam on the inside absorbs and dissipates the impact energy. If the styrofoam is cracked or compromised it will ot be able to do this effectively.

Don't believe me? Put on a cheap bicycle helmet and get someone to hit you with a bat (preferably on the helmet!). Then take that same helmet and crack the styrofoam, put it on and try it again.

Dropping it shouldn't do any damage, except paint, :(

Think about it, if it gets damaged dropping it, it won't do your head any good when you crash!

I remember I heard that the dropping it on the floor rumour is a myth. You only have to take into account if you drop it with something inside the helmet.

Action taught that a helmet that fell from a height as high as a table top should be of no concern. After that, have it checked or replaced.

If it's one of those helmets worth over $400 and in a large, don't trust it. Give it to me and buy a new one.:devillook

Hahhhha, yeah, me too, :rockon

Wow, neat stuff, the helmet drop device is pretty cool and the gadget to turn your FRS radio's into chatterbox's.

my kids dropped their bicycle helmets constantly.... same as millions of other kids do...I don't see parents replacing them. The outside shell of a motorcycle helmet is make of pretty tough material....simple wear and tear..ie dropping, scuffing, bumping.... is not going to compromise its ability to protect. Just use common sense... if I dropped my helmet down a flight of stairs made of concrete...then thats another story....it would be too ugly to wear with my shiney new bike. Just my 2 cents

sending it back to the manufactures would take 6-8 weeks.. so if its your only helmet... its not the best idea... but as people said.. if its an more expensive helmet... and depending how u drop it.. it should be fine... BUT my instrustor at PRS said that if a helmet is drop from the back seat of your bike... it can crack the foam so i don't know... best way to know... pray for these few weeks that u would be needing to fully use the helmet's main purpose and send it back when you stop riding...

I have no idea what you are talking about. This topic is only 1 page long. Is there something else yer talking about? The only link I can see in this topic, other than the one I posted to the Shok-SpotR is your link in your signature: "Check out my parts for sale"

Are you selling Shok-SpotRs? What are you on about?
