the guy busted up my ignition.....i have all the parts picked up on the ground...so surprised the person can do this since its a high volume area and ppl should hear that some jackass is banging away at my ignition.... i parked at the easypark on georgia and richards...

A friend of mine just had his yellow 600rr stolen from his parkade and he had a bike-brace on it. He'd only just bought the bike, did the service [tires etc] and brought it back from the shop ...so he didn't even get a good first ride on it! AND: this bike was a replacement for his other 600rr... stolen last season. :firemad
There seems to be a sudden spike in bike thefts lately. Sadly, I don't know that thefts are truly preventable. If a thief wants your bike, he'll get it. And there's sound reasoning behind it: if this is the thief's full-time job, like any professional he'll have the right tools, information, assistance, transportation and experience.
If we all thought of the thief in these terms, we'd re-adjust how we think about the concept of safety altogether. I imagine my bikes theft-proof yet I'm never surprised that their theft has actually been attempted. If I weren't so pissed off I might be impressed at their level of planning & expertise... true professionals making a dishonest day's living. :rolleyes

I can't believe all this theft shit in broad daylight. Have any theft deterent devices on the bike (disc lock, etc)?
It seems to me the ignition lock on most bikes is easier to pop that those in a car. Kind of a joke.

I can't speak for both as I only really get exposed to one kind. I will glady show you how to defeat in 1-2 minutes (No Kryptonite videos here...). There is a simple bandaid solution and its not too costly either.

This thread is useless without pictures. Though I don't think Jay would want pictures showing how his product was defeated. I'm not 100% sure, but I haven't heard of a brace being defeated yet. Anyone feel free to correct me if i am wrong.

That sucks man...seems to be more and more thefts going on these days. I am so wary about parking my bike anywhere I can't see it. If its not in my garage, I'm worried about it.
