Well, I finally had a chance to do my 2-up ride with the lady this weekend. Here's my little story.

The Equipment: 2005 Ducati Monster S4R

Quick review of the bike. Feels planted better than a weed plant in an East Van basement. It was very comfortable with a passenger, corners extremely well (however I do need to set up the suspension) and can easily hang with the sportbikes. The 996 engine has TONNES of power for passing and I barely even noticed I had a passenger. However, having a passenger that can't reach the tank on an L-Twin bike is like a primitive form of birth control, I'll let you guys try to figure that one out on your own. ;)

The Location:

The Okanagan is beautiful. I hadn't been through there in the summer for years and completely forgot what it was like. We had great weather on the way up and a little bit of rain on the way back, with the weather changes we had a myriad of conditions to test the bike out in. I'd have preferred weather somewhere in the middle of the blistering heat and the cold downpours, but hey, that's riding. I highly recommend heading out this direction if you haven't already. Roads are great, weather is beautiful and the scenery is absolutely amazing from penticton to Kelowna. I preferred the little town called Peachland which is where we stayed.

All in all, it was an awesome trip and only about 1100Kms.

right on, looks like a sweet trip. Why'd u'd take a passenger to the land of..... I just got back from kelowna and the boons, and the kootneys, and the freaking scenery in kelowna is amazing. I swear it was almost 2 girls to every guy. Whatever floats your boat homie

Oh Phil... the reason you are single and always seem to have a new lady around, it is all making sense now!!! Uhhhh... did you get a look at Scott's girl? She is a total hottie, not to mention a total sweetheart on top of everything else. A real pleasure to be around.

Lee and I (among our group ride to the lake near Princeton) had the good fortune to enjoy a longer rest stop at the Chevron with Scott and his passenger. Scott is lucky enough to have recognized the fact that if you find one good gal, there is no need for a parade of others, no matter how nice looking they are - that only lasts so long before you will need to have an intellectual conversation. Good on ya Scott!!! Look forward to seeing you two again soon!


hehe, the problem is finding one capable of such a conversation :p until i find the mythical unicorn of the female population I'll continue to have fun and be young :D

Looks like you guys had an awesome trip...we ended up staying in Kelowna too late on Sunday so we had to rip it back on the Coq only to hit what felt like snow :rtfm it was a measly 3 degress at the toll booth!

The kicker....the insane winds caused my back pack, that was strapped on with my cargo net, to fall onto my exhaust and IT ALL CAUGHT FIRE :banghead :banghead :banghead

So when I actually hit the sleet/rain/snow I had no rain gear cause it was all charcoal! :laughing :laughing :laughing

And the adventure aka nikki's life continues.....I am a gong show :flashy

Excellent photos. I've done that trip quite often but Scott: my hair always looked better than yours. :D

Your one-and-only Clare and I were just discussing Scott's gf's good looks, the photogenic quality of this pairing and the fun they probably had during the whole trip. We decided Clare would look just as good with Scott, and have just as much fun. Our conversation ended when we realized your trade-in value and lack of a Ducati ...made Clare's hope to 'marry up' too expensive. Apparently you're safe. For now. :D
