I picked up a new bike today.
Almost got a 1098 but 8 months of riding doesn't mean I'm hot shit and should jump onto a litre machine. SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO... Behold my new baby!
it's a 2006 Ducati 749 Dark.
Km's just over 3000, and it's MINT.
and I love it.
riding it home I had a huge smile on my face as a chick on her cell cut me off almost hitting me. I pulled infront of her with a big smile on my face and the finger in hers. Never has a bike made me smile so much.
I left team Honda and it's amazing reliabilty for my home team of Italy.
Sure it breaks twice as much, but I don't care cause it makes me feel 500times better.
I hate Coffee it won't be near a Starbucks (fuck you! yeah you, about to make the starbucks comment, eat my ass!) I'm heading out for a long ride!
WOO!

Yeah that's the one!
I got it down on price quite a bit too! :D
It was way too good a deal to pass up compared to the other ones I'd been seeing. It also had all records, the first service done, and it came with a booked appointment to John Valk on the 20th which I hear has like a 3 month waiting list. Also selling my spot at John Valk for 300$... hahaha JK JK!

Nice.
My 90SS had me reaching for my helmet more often than any bike I've owned. Sadly in what I thought was a moment of sanity I traded it in for another UJS (Universal Japanese Sportbike). I did it because I needed something to tour on reliably and the Duc didn't like the rain. But I realize now that I should have kept the Duc and just gotten another bike to tour on.

At second glance I can see why people say Ducati onwers are trying to compensate for certain parts of their anatomy...Look at how big and blingy that kickstand is!

Congrats! I almost impulse bought a 2005 one from Chop Shop. It looked and sounded even better. I am glad I didn't buy it but it still would have been awesome!

Another joins the ducati club.... you won't be disappointed... at least not until your next service.
But then you be happy again shortly after. lol

You need to put a David Hasslehoff sticker on the windscreen and call that thing Kit.
Nice.

I saw a bunch of Duc's come off the duffy on saturday, good on ya.
Don't ever let anyone fuck up your buzz and remember you're one step closer to Dagmar than the rest of us mortals.

Thanks for all the great comments!
I've been riding all day, I'm all hot and sore and I don't care.
I absolutely love the bike everything about it. I'm so sure this was the right bike and choice for me. Oddly I ride it far slower than the RR not because I'm getting used to it, it just feels better to bomb around then scream down every street at 150.
I need a Ducati Jacket now, and some underware... you never know! you never know...

I have absolutely no doubts there. I can't say enough good things about my RR. You can never go wrong with a Honda, it's always the best Japanese choice in my oppinion.

Congrats mate, hope the initial lust/buzz never wears off. +1 on the pipes comment, I believe in the fine print of your owners manual it talks about it being sacrilegious to run a Duc without the appropriate booming exhaust note. I assure you in enhances the experience significantly.
congrats. great looking bike . . . didn't that ad show it comes with a jacket?
always curious . . . how do you take care ie wax/polish the dark paint job.

I opted against the jacket to take 500$ off the price. Although I'll probably spend the 500-800$ on a Ducati jacket later this year... oh well! I have no idea how to take care of the paint yet with wax/polish, I havent got that far yet haha! I got a cover for the winter, and a rear tire stand as well so that should help for storage come end of Oct. Once I regain some funds I'm definitely gonna get the Termignoni Carbon Fiber Exhaust as my first mod, and maybe an open clutch cover, oh so much to do! :D
