Six riders, three coming north on the Duffy, three north from Lytton, the two groups converging on the Lightfoot Gas Station at Lillooet within 1.0 minute of each other (now that's timing)! Then off to Cache Creek, Logan Lake, Merritt and Spences Bridge.
Great ride today guys, little bit of rain here and there nothing too serious. 839 km door to door for me.
Here are Subject Nos. 1 and 2, unaware they are being observed.

A quick stop at the Highland Valley Copper Mine.
Who let a KLR650 join this fine group of high tech performance-bikes? Someone's getting fired on Monday.

Big truck things at Logan Lake. This is sort of a roadside museum.
The truck in the bottom picture has a 7,800 cu. inch. two stroke engine producing 2,500 horsepower. And Z-rated tires. I'm getting one of those engines for my Killer, to teach them bastids a lesson after leaving me behind all day suffering speed wobbles. :(

More shots from the edge of the open pit copper mine. The water near the mine didn't look so good for swimming today - probably just too late in the season. :flashy

Hmmm, too bad Digby. You would have liked the rest of the ride too. Don't sweat it, there'll be dozens more bikes to choose from.

Wow. Looks like it was a very scenic ride. I've never been to Logan lake before. I'm jealous.
Steve: I'll borrow my dad's Burgman to ride alongside your KLR on the next trip. That way you have somebody else to share the exhaust fumes of the other bikes with you.
Digs: Don't worry it's the end of season. There will be dealers itching to get rid of the 07s to make room for the 08s. I think you'd be better off making a quick sale (i.e. a few hundred dollars less than what everyone else is asking) for your R6 than trading it in. The dealers give you fu*k all for your used bike.

The best part about riding the KLR are all the built-in speed governors (engine, transmission, drivetrain, tires, suspension, brakes, rider ineptitude) that help keep things relatively sane.
That said, I recall passing a Honda litre bike somewhere in the canyon :laughing .

Lots of medium to big sweepers from Lillooet to Cache Creek, Logan Lake and then Merritt. I think you'd approve. Maybe leave the Bergman at home though.

thanks for the support y'all; yah, tell you truth its a funny thing, they say sure come on in, ohh, you realize your bike is got way to many clicks for that year!! {hugh!?? you mean if it had been a shittier summer it would be worth more!!?} seems no matter what they call it {whole sale prices or whatever} most dealers give you US value on your bike in a trade in, but are quick to charge full MSRP CAD!!! yahh, right, i'm prolly just gonna wait till i sell it, n' go south for a new bike, as much as i want to support the economy, you really do have to draw the line somewhere {quoting Steve there!!}

Was a fun ride as always, guys! Other than meeting an oncoming unmarked popo (followed closely by a marked popo) outside of Harrison, (while overtaking IN THEIR LANE at a brisk pace), Tony and I had an uneventful end to an awesome ride. Fortunately said LEO's apparently had other things on their mind and didn't light 'em up. Phew. Got a little damp, but nothing worth writing home about. I think I need a new front if I plan riding in the rain again :laughing
The KLR more than held its own through the Duffy, but it seems that it's self-destructive tank-slapper behaviour starts up just when the going gets good. Steve, I see you took my advice down the canyon and tried to "ride through" the wobble, but the KLR wasn't having any of it.
825 km door to door for me, 6.15 am to 7.00 pm. Just another Saturday ride. We should plan a "long" ride sometime.
