Weather is horrible out there lately.
This gives time to finally sort out the hard drive of this past summer.

So lets bring back some sunshine in our day by posting a few pictures of my first ever Moto GP experience.

Thanks to the DTK movie my interest has more than picked up on the subject and I decided to ride down there this year.

So here we go...

Morning practice.

Ducati island entertainment.

The start. Simply the best sensation of the race IMHO.

Can anybody put names on these guys please?

And now some pictures of the commute to laguna. Our trip followed I5 down and Hwy101 back up.
The idea was to do as many side roads as possible along the way to meet at the hotel in the evening.

I was on the same ride as Tatoodles but somehow we managed to avoid riding any miles together along the way. I guess we have a different taste for the type of road we travel on. To be fair we have different bikes so we do not have fun on the same type of surface and twisties.

The only ray of sunshine came while crossing in Oregon at Longview. After day one rain was the oddity.

Monster in action. Now that is a bike who is so happy in tight corners. I gained a lot of respect for this machine on this ride.

There was still some snow in the shade at 8,511' the highest point of the ride.

The sulphur smell. Well we won't comment.

Ugly roads all the way.

i belive those 2 riders were Adam West and Sylvan Guintoli. Roger Lee wore his silver and green Monster Arai so it's not him on the Kawi but it might have been Dandy De puinet or Makoto Tamada also. can't see the number on the bikes. hmmm white helmet on the Yami is def Sylvain and the green with white stripe is Randy De puinet. there ya go!!

The ride was 9 days long. I logged almost 4,500 Kms.
The group was about 25 riders strong, and one support truck/trailer for luggage and the mechanic guy.
Some riders road alone or in small group, up to 10 sometimes.
After a couple of days riding styles and tastes dictate the spread.

It could very well happen before the end of the year. Just need a combination of relatively good weather and timing. The same friend I was with last time need to go check his little property on Nelson Island.

Do you think that you can reach the ground when on the HP ?
We will have to try away from your driveway ;-)

Good stuff.

I could barely tiptoe a F650GS but I think the HP2 may be shorter. I can't resist all the accolades on the HP2 but then there is the Ducati HM.

BTW, went to JV to take one out like you said, but they has none as all were spoken for.

bafflebrain, the HP2 is much higher than the F650! ;)

Great pics Bruno, even after having seen them before :) No pics of YOUR bike?
