The spontaneity of this was really more interesting than the trip itself, but I'll share anyways. ;) Savannah and I were in White rock checking out some kittens, and after adopting/buying this little guy.

We decided to test out the nexus cards.. well, after screwing that up (missing the card reader) we just started to ride south. So we headed over to HWY 9 at about 8:30 with nothing but a tank bag with one pair of jeans and my sunglasses. :)

http://photos-d.ak.facebook.com/photos-ak-sf2p/v239/8/69/515686234/n515686234_576283_4321.jpg

Hwy 9 was a little scary to ride at night knowing how many deer are out there at night, so we headed down with our vests plugged in and did our best. Of course, we had to stop at this awesome joint. If you haven't eaten here, you're seriously missing out.

We decided to head all the way to Seattle instead of going home since we were halfway and after checking around, the only hotel we could find at 1 am was this one, The Max. I don't recommend it... check out the size.

After shopping this morning, we headed back and zipped up the chuckanut... it was a nice calm ride.

Here on the way back we stopped in Old Fairhaven and had a nice little meal, I love this town... very old fashioned town.

http://photos-a.ak.facebook.com/photos-ak-sf2p/v239/8/69/515686234/n515686234_576288_5570.jpg

FYI, I'm well aware this is a lame little report and the pics suck... but yeah, it was still fun. ;)

I like the rack and backrest. Did you put it on recently?
The new kitten is cute too.
Cheers!

Hey JScott,

I've been to the Blue Mtn Grill, but the real gem on that road has to be the North Fork Brewing Company. Great food, and while not exactly an activity that goes well with riding, they sell 1/2 gallon jugs of beer for take-out.

I dunno, it would be hard to beat Blue Mtn's "awesome sandwich" ;)

That tapas place was amazing, best coffee and meatballs I've had in a long time.

So more importantly how did Sav like the longish ride with the rack as a backrest?

We had that for last weeks trip as well and she likes it more for the piece of mind it gives just being there. No more worries about falling off. ;)

haha, well first off all... last time I invited you guys you ditched me like I was the fat friend. ;) Second, it was last minute... we were across the border before we decided to go... totally unprepared.

Incantaion, she loves/hates it. She likes going for the ride and going somewhere, but she gets uncomfortable on the highway. We're helping this by going on shorter trips and not pulling 600+km days.

DNA, that's funny, Savannah said that hotel room was like the last one she stayed at in Hong Kong. :laughing

And that's a blue-mitted blaze Ragdoll... but yeah, we didn't pick it up yet, that wouldn't have been fun with a cat in the tankbag. haha

I didn't mean that. I've never had a problem keeping up, you know that ;) If anything, I usually end up getting passed in the straights and held up in the corners... hence why I only invited a select group last time. :laughing

My comment about being ditched was regarding when I invited you bastards last weekend. .

Sorry Scotty, I was supposed to go on another ride but it was a rain out. Then I got into my car to go buy some milk at the 7-11 and somehow ended up in Lillooet.

But the worst part was when I didn't wave at you three as we passed in opposite directions through the canyon (I swear I didn't see you / was not paying attention).

Yeah, you were blazing by a couple cars so I'm sure your attention was on that.

Glad you had a fun drive. ;)

1.) Kittens?? I thought you'd be more of a dog person

2.) That hotel room looks like a love hotel
DNA was your last hotel a love hotel, capsule, regular room, or other?

For those who don't know, a love hotel is a hotel room where typically couples go. While there are staff to deliver food, toys, drinks, etc.. to you through a small hole (mini door) in the [ regular ] door, there is no reception desk and it is very anonymous. They look like scotty's picture, and you when you go in the door is locked and you can't leave until you pay (through a machine)

Really?!?
I thought a love hotel was a building the loved me very much and wished me well, like a building substitute of my mom! I'm glad you cleared that up for me otherwise I'd have been very confused... and obviously really stupid...

I have it from reliable sources that the bike on the left just wasted our Resident DuckBoy in the twisties.

Sad as it sounds, the truth is what it is ...

Funny story about that bike; it was actually ridden by a REALLY old couple. It was cute, she could barely walk and it was a struggle to get her leg over the saddle... but they looked sweet. :)

I just can't have a dog here in the city. I want a lab really bad, but I work pretty long hours during the week and don't want to leave the dog alone.

We're getting two ragdolls (which are the most like dogs) so they can entertain each other.

Good for you for realizing you do not have the space or time commitment for one.

Cats on the other hand would rather you leave them alone.....:laughing
