General discussion of Sportbikes
There are way too many oil threads started in a year, and most lead down a similar path of debate and frustration.
So, ALL oil related threads/posts will be contained within this area going forward.
Feel free to discuss the exciting merits of syn for not? Fantastic winter oil options? All...
I thought I'd start a sticky for people to list their stolen bikes. This can be an easy reference point if you see something fishy on the market.
To help with detailing the theft, report the date and location of theft, make, model, VIN, colour, location etc. Anything that could assist with...
Bcsb Rescue Ops.
If you need to be rescued and your insurance doesn't cover the towing, or if you don't have insurance or don't want to go thru your insurance, please contact the appropriate BCSB Member listed below for your region and if available they will gladly help you.
The dangers of riding(categorized) from the safety nazi of the day(me):
in my small amount of time riding I've come up with a couple observations regarding the dangers. I've compiled them into an unscientific, statistically oriented list from most frequently happening on BCSB to least(some...
It's that time of year again, so just a head's up, no specific "date" in the subject line
of a ride thread, gets deleted.
"Saturday" does not count, that's DAY, not a DATE. There are many Saturdays in a year, but only one April 1st.
Reason this is being posted in the General Sportbike...
So im having this old lady restored/upgraded...fork internals, Penske rear shock...modern tires obviously....all new bearings...ect ect...

I never like hearing about a motorcycle manufacturer shutting down. Here is the bad news from the Victory/Polaris brand.
They sure know how to make an extremely good looking bike IMHO:
I think everyone would appreciate knowing what rides members have planned for 2017. If for no other reason to inspire others....
Me, I plan to do a track day at the ridge (maybe 2), a 5 day loop through Oregon/Idaho, a weekender to the Kootenays, and a Wrong Way Down trip to NorCal in...
3 versions. 765cc, looks great
It would be on my short list if i was looking.
I would post in the Bike Movies sub but the last post in there was in September.
While not exactly a "Bike Movie" here come some bikes in a movie....
I'm not sure whether such things interest others, but I plan to be there to watch. Makes a good excuse for a trip ( with my wife, not bike-tripping this time!). The centre passes pretty much directly over John Day, but of course all accommodation in that town is already fully booked up. I've...
Not long now until full computer assisted ride by wire at track speeds. *Maybe they'll even invent a bike that I can ride off road without all the crashing and the crying and what not.
2015 YAMAHA YZF-R1M & YZF-R1

Looking for some thoughts....
So my insurance finally came in from my totaled bike and I'm ready to buy a new Zx10 unfortunately all the 16s are sold out up here and I do not want to wait till spring for the 17s ... also just my luck there ain't much an any rebates out so there's no...
And now, for something completely different.
I was looking for a bike that would be solely a coffee shop cruiser. No long trips, certainly no bad weather and something prettier than normal.
I started down the Ducati route, to the point of calling a few people and making a few trips. I had an...
Story from a pal re his 2014 V-Strom 650 with 36k miles
would not start...the ABS and Fuel Injection Light was on... a brief battery charge got it cranked...
this made no sense.... rode to Advance Auto to maybe get the battery checked and maybe replaced... the bike quit again....
To be followed up by "Wah did ya get fer Xmas" thread.
Try to to keep it bike related. Or relate it to bikes!
Full ti exhaust. Akara please.
Some new textile gear.
Fresh riding skills ..... ART course sounds good.
Anither trip to Bora Bora ..... it's bike related because I can...
This definitely has the looks to make it attractive to first time riders or others. I feel it is a better option than a lay down riding style sport bike clone. Not bad, BMW!
C'mon LottoMax! :laughing:laughing:laughing
This is the site where I re-found the wee Honda.
There are a few "modern" bikes on there, like an '02 R1 or an '11 ZX14; but it's mainly old stuff.
For the most part it seems to be old stuff in really nice shape. As much as I like bending...
With this season winding down, what was the highlight of your year? road? trip? bike? etc, etc
big picture - my two weeks of riding in California, Arizona, Utah, and Nevada. There was so much variety. It went from the windy forestry roads of Nor' Cal, to the mountain passes of...
just wanted to give a shout out to www.fortnine.ca
i ordered my new shoei gt-air from them a couple of weeks ago and i wasn't home on mon when canada post tried to deliver so they sent it off to the nearest postal depot. i was in no rush to pick it up so i sat on it for a few days.
Unlike last year, the clearing of Highway 20 through is not a quick affair. The weather in the mountains, like on the Coast and the rest of BC has been fairly typical. Lots of precipitation.
The process began a full month ago on March 17th. They have made great progress stating it would take at...
Hello people, I've been lurking for a while so thought I'd join in.
Triumph Thruxton R was my ride this past season and gotta say it's fantastic. Handles very well for heavish bike, and brakes very aggressively. Kinda pretty as well! Cheers.
As a point of interest, what happened to BCSB?
There are almost no new posts or threads and most of the regulars have gone quiet.
I returned from 3 weeks of riding and thought well BCSB will provide me with at least a week or so of "quiet time"reading and there were almost no new posts.
Middle weight KTM sounds good to me.
Looking good for small bike choices. The Honda ADV Scooter looks like a great commuter too. There's even a wall hanger in here for Chia. (V Strom 250)
This shit never gets old...i post my bike and 10 minutes later heres what I get:
'I am interested and will like answer these questions; Are you the first owner? Why are you selling it? How have you been using it? Kind Regards SGT Kelly
So I respond:
'I am the 8th owner, I am been using...
