General discussion of Sportbikes
There are way too many oil threads started in a year, and most lead down a similar path of debate and frustration.
So, ALL oil related threads/posts will be contained within this area going forward.
Feel free to discuss the exciting merits of syn for not? Fantastic winter oil options? All...
I thought I'd start a sticky for people to list their stolen bikes. This can be an easy reference point if you see something fishy on the market.
To help with detailing the theft, report the date and location of theft, make, model, VIN, colour, location etc. Anything that could assist with...
Bcsb Rescue Ops.
If you need to be rescued and your insurance doesn't cover the towing, or if you don't have insurance or don't want to go thru your insurance, please contact the appropriate BCSB Member listed below for your region and if available they will gladly help you.
The dangers of riding(categorized) from the safety nazi of the day(me):
in my small amount of time riding I've come up with a couple observations regarding the dangers. I've compiled them into an unscientific, statistically oriented list from most frequently happening on BCSB to least(some...
It's that time of year again, so just a head's up, no specific "date" in the subject line
of a ride thread, gets deleted.
"Saturday" does not count, that's DAY, not a DATE. There are many Saturdays in a year, but only one April 1st.
Reason this is being posted in the General Sportbike...
With this season winding down, what was the highlight of your year? road? trip? bike? etc, etc
big picture - my two weeks of riding in California, Arizona, Utah, and Nevada. There was so much variety. It went from the windy forestry roads of Nor' Cal, to the mountain passes of...
well all these posts about new bikes got me feeling a little jealous.
decided to join the club and purchased a new bike about two weeks ago.
i just have to figure out how to post pictures from my phone...

I've been keeping very quiet over the past 2-3 months as I was searching for a beast I could add to the stable.
Two weeks ago now, I can finally...
Based on the 6 cylinder platform, BMW today announced a Bagger bike.
"BMW’s VISION 100 bike employs active assistance systems of the future which will also enhance stability and safety by automatically balancing the motorcycle, both out on the road and when stationary. "
As a point of interest, what happened to BCSB?
There are almost no new posts or threads and most of the regulars have gone quiet.
I returned from 3 weeks of riding and thought well BCSB will provide me with at least a week or so of "quiet time"reading and there were almost no new posts.
They sure know how to make an extremely good looking bike IMHO:
Ok, so now I'm on bike #15........sounds weird even when I type it. Owned the Ninja 1000 for 5 summers and 46,000kms and it was one of the best bikes I have owned. Granted, I sunk $6000 in to it in power and suspension upgrades and it would probably dyno at around 145hp. As more and more of my...
Having not been to the LMDs pale imitation of The Rock Store this year, I thought that today would be a good time to go.
It it was wonderful to see that there has been no changes to the street squirrel mentality.
Body positioning, lane use, speeds and a general "damn the torpedoes" attitude...
So just looking for a bit of advice on this.....
Got a ticket this Saturday for an improperly displayed plate (section 3.02) cost $235
So I'm thinking of disputing this ticket as after looking through the regulations there is no real guide on how to display you license plate, mine is on the...
I'm considering selling my beloved VFR and getting something in the 250-300 CBR/Ninja range, its just a better fit for the riding I'm doing right now.
I'm a reasonably tall guy, 6'2", not heavy but the smaller bikes I've sat on (haven't ridden one) seem a bit cramped.
Anybody have any...
Hoping this forum is still active. My 2008 Honda CBR125r suddenly died on the highway. Wouldn't restart, just a single "thunk" when I hit the starter. Has 44k km and oil changed every 5k with Mobile1 MX4T. Towed to dealer and they think it's a broken conrod by looking through the spark plug hole....
Finding the truth to this article would be like finding a needle in a hay stack but either way it makes motorcyclists look bad.
Something for you Kawasaki fans this morning......
I headed out for a tour of the valley this morning. I ran into three large groups (15 bikes +) of mixed bikes. All of them wavers, not a cruiser face to be seen.
Cold, damp pavement made for a leisurely pace. On an RC51, maybe not so pleasant. But living the adventure bike life lets a rider...
was watching some stuff tonight on the youtubes and netflixes and thought wow, that's got to be the greatest motorcycle race ever. not only great racing, but an absolutely gripping outcome.
2008 nw 200
what would you put down as your vote?
Hey all, I've visited BC a few times, rented motorcycles here and on the island, even rode out here once and started the game of tag on this forum (is that still going on?). Anyway, just thought I'd let you know about our most recent travel plans:
Neda and I got our motorcycle licenses together...
Pretty interesting read for the up coming race.
Wow... this went from one of the coolest forums around... and pretty active, to dead as a doornail in no time. Incredible.
"intends to allow a relationship with the rider and motorcycle. The more the rider and motorcycle interact, the stronger the bond, and this communication will allow the motorcycle to develop a unique personality reflecting the individual idiosyncrasies of the rider. This system is intended to give...
Wanted to change the oil on my 2007 R1200rt and could not find the filter wrench in my disaster of a garage. I live near kits if anybody in vancouver and willing to lend it to me for a day or two.

I've wanted a thruxton for a few years now, so when i saw this I just couldn't help myself. Got the bike last week spent the last few days making it look the way i want it to. Absolutely gorgeous bike imo. Came with all the mods I wanted. British Customs high exhaust with...
