General discussion of Sportbikes
There are way too many oil threads started in a year, and most lead down a similar path of debate and frustration.
So, ALL oil related threads/posts will be contained within this area going forward.
Feel free to discuss the exciting merits of syn for not? Fantastic winter oil options? All...
I thought I'd start a sticky for people to list their stolen bikes. This can be an easy reference point if you see something fishy on the market.
To help with detailing the theft, report the date and location of theft, make, model, VIN, colour, location etc. Anything that could assist with...

If you need to be rescued and your insurance doesn't cover the towing, or if you don't have insurance or don't want to go thru your insurance, please contact the appropriate BCSB Member listed below for your region and if available they will gladly help you.
The dangers of riding(categorized) from the safety nazi of the day(me):
in my small amount of time riding I've come up with a couple observations regarding the dangers. I've compiled them into an unscientific, statistically oriented list from most frequently happening on BCSB to least(some...
It's that time of year again, so just a head's up, no specific "date" in the subject line
of a ride thread, gets deleted.
"Saturday" does not count, that's DAY, not a DATE. There are many Saturdays in a year, but only one April 1st.
Reason this is being posted in the General Sportbike...
That girl was on it. Just a gearhead who knew how to ride, and did ... lots!
The last post from her was during a long distance trip she was doing, then suddenly nothing. I hope all is well.

Hey guys, so I was quite pumped to get off of work today and insure my bike, I bought it in January and have only been able to stare at it. I have never had the pleasure of owning any new bikes and was concerned about the whole breakin period. Anyways with one kilometer in the odometer I set out...
For anyone interested.....not a "bargain", but decent price for what it is:
Well the day has finally arrived when WSDOT have issued the start day of the clearing of the Cascades. You don't need to be told, the snow is deep this year and avalanches areas are more extreme so the clearing is not going to be easy.
The assessment was done last week and they will begin the...
I need to be in Beirut for a wedding...thinking of stopping over in Europe for a week. Was wondering if anyone has attended any motorcycle race schools or all included track days ?
Having a hard time finding information online.
Hey everyone, just trying to figure out what to do for a key. I have only the red "master" key for my 07 r6. Did not realize until talking to someone that this is the only key that can be used too program new keys (so that they are able too deactivate the immobilizer on the bike (apparently 06 And...
I know lots of people use cameras to capture cool/scenic/group rides. Do any of you use cameras every-time you ride? Mainly thinking of two benefits of this (1) always tend to see lots of cool stuff when out riding (maybe because I'm more "in-tune" with my surroundings when riding vs when driving)...
Any word on when the doors are opening up at the new Messerschmidt dealer in Langley?
I have trailered many a dirt-bike, usually not caring about scrapes, scratches or other mishaps since the very nature of dirt-biking means they get so beat up anyways from daily use. I will be trailering my r6 from the okanagan to the coast and I would prefer to avoid as much damage as possible. I...
I am missing one of the gas tank fairings on 07 R6, which would be nice to replace sometime soon. I checked out ebay and there are some on there, however, I am not sure if I (a) trust the sellers and (b) can put faith in a part bought from said sellers.
Where do you guys usually look/go for...

Police Tackling Noisy Vehicles
The onset of summer is not always good news for some Lower Mainland residents, who dread the increase in noisy motorcycles and other vehicles on their neighborhood roads.

here's a lovely little piece of writing, from Dean Adams at Superbike Planet:
A question for the mechanical comrades on here....(Mods if this is the wrong section can you please let me know?)
I am in the process of getting a new (to me bike) (07 r6), the one thing is that it has been sitting in the previous owners garage for approximately 2 years. To add to...
I was with Beacon ever since I got my SV 4 years ago. I didnt really have issues with them, mainly because I never had any claims so far *knock on wood* Last year they messed up my insurance, it took 3 months to get paper work, then 3 more to get paperwork with proper insurance shown. That kinda...
OK it's time to cough up for watching races.
But how? Is the Videopass the only option? Previously there've been various tiers, multi view etc, but right now it looks like there's just the whole season, or monthly.
I don't need every race that's every been recorded... I don't need the...
thanx to LCPeter for passing this along. the Pfeiffer Creek bridge at Big Sur was badly damaged beyond repair in a winter storm and has had to be demolished:

Hey, just curious if anyone has had any experience with any shops in BC that do custom pipe work. I want to do a low exit 2-1 GP style exhaust on my Hyper, but I cant find much for off the shelf products. I found a guy that had one made for his Monster 796,...
I think everyone would appreciate knowing what rides members have planned for 2017. If for no other reason to inspire others....
Me, I plan to do a track day at the ridge (maybe 2), a 5 day loop through Oregon/Idaho, a weekender to the Kootenays, and a Wrong Way Down trip to NorCal in...
Still crazy expensive, but arguably the best two options out there, and they're both on sale right now, and $330 off.
... just ordered a 595 from GPSCity.ca
Just saw this on another site, and wanted to share. Apparently there was a class action against HF that has been settled. If you have shopped in HF between 4/8/11-12/15/16 you can make a claim.
