I am curious, I have a dual sport. There is a complete traffic jam and I don't want to sit in the line-up for who knows how long. Say I decide to ride a couple of feet further over and not on the shoulder where an automobile can drive, but riding on the dirt through the grass to avoid a ticket.
Ive got an upcoming court date which involves one ground and one air unit issuing me a speeding ticket.
air one clocked me
ground unit gave me the ticket.
do they both have to attend the court date?
also what should I be requesting for disclosure?
Notes or documentation pertaining to the...
Hey, guys. I recently got my Motorcycle Learner's.
The sun disappears early around this time of the year, but I'm curious for when it comes April or something.
I was wondering how strict the 'daylight' restriction is. I plan to go to work with my bike and I'm usually off around 6, but...
Bikes are loud but are not visibile 100% of the time. I have seen lots of LED lights on bikes and wanted to know if they legal according tot he law?
Im going to traffic court tomorrow.
Im just wondering if there is a time limit to present your case? I have over 130 cross examination questions for the officer and its going to take a while to get through them.
Is it legal to carry a baton when im riding? or driving in my car? I see batons on sale everywhere. i'm sure some peeps go to the mall with them.
Metal handcuffs? Pepper spray? 3-Dcell Mag lights? the list goes on...
Concealed or non concealed?
scenario 1) in the case that a vehicle has already begun to make a left hand turn, is a pedestrian within his right to hop off the sidewalk onto the roadway and make the vehicle yield while he crosses?
and, does the pedestrian owe said left turner some duty of care to make sure that there isn't...
I know that the question has been asked a few times, but I cross these intersections every day and it seems that there is some contradicting information. In the ICBC road sense manual it says:
"Steady Red light — A red light means that you must come to a complete stop. You must wait for the...
This bike I'm picking up soon has both integrated tail lights and fender eliminator (the one that tucks near the rear shock, but has a light). The owner doesn't have stock parts. He told me he's been through many road blocks and rode past many police officers without any problems. Is this...
Ok, here is a hypothetical situation:
If I am issued a ticket for consuming alcohol in public on a certain date - lets say during the olympics - and then dispute it and go to court in the beginning of November and the cop shows up and I lose, but then I find out that the cop was charged with...
Went to court Monday on a speeding charge (car).
For a couple of the cases before mine, a different cop than the one that was present at the time of the offense was there to ask for an adjournment of the case. The two people, both poor English speakers, agreed to an adjournment. Reason given,...
Where did all the cops go?
I would like to hear an officers perspective on the new speeding laws
But I have not seen an officer in this forum for months.
You see many plate flippers on the market, if an officer saw this device on your bike while you were pulled over or at a road block but it was not in use ( they never saw it flipped) what would they be able to do about that?
And what about if you were caught using it?
I have a question about radar calibration and accuracy.
Im going to court to fight a speeding ticket for 118 in an 80 zone. I was absolutely not speeding.
I requested disclosure and all info on the radar unit that was used. The officer told me he was using stalker 2 dual dsr. He sent me a...
Was just sitting around a buddy's place tonight having a beer, and conversation turned to the consequences of having a beer, and driving home.
He told me a tale of his encounter with the roadside screening device: basically, he was not drunk, but had been drinking.
He would not blow into the...
So, this is a completely hypothetical question:
what would happen if I dispute a speeding ticket and then last minute couldn't make it to court and therefore miss the hearing? I figure I would obviously lose my dispute and the ticket and its full fine amount would remain in full effect right? ...
I have a few questions regarding legality of speeding in certain circumstances where it is required to safely pass:
1. Is it true that a court will sometimes grant exemption from a VT for speeding if it is shown that the accused needed to speed to safely pass on the highway
2. If so, Can anyone...
so I just got a speeding ticket on hwy 99 coming back from the turkey sale in Whistler in my car. The officer walks up as I roll down the window and immediately says "I just clocked you doing 115 in an 80 zone and you have tinted front windows" then he proceeded to use his finger nail to peel...
I was wondering if you would mind giving your opinion on this. Thanks.

So the story goes like this: I was driving along in Kamloops in my cage. I'd just pulled out of the Safeway and was accelerating towards the green light intersection. It was 9pm and the roads were deserted. I glance down for a moment to get the music going. When I look up, it's a yellow, and since...
If someone from Alberta is caught going the 40 over the limit, and is given the huge fine for it, what about the 7 day MANDITORY impound?
Friend of mine say's they cannot impound a vehicle registered outside BC.
Any truth to that?
