This morning, I emerged into the rainy, rainy dawn only to find that my bike was denuded! Some punk had stolen my bike cover!
As one may imagine, I was all kinds of pissed off, and I rode around the neighborhood (Kits) to see if my cover (which has some personalized elements) had "found a new home"... alas, no joy. So now I'm a bit bummed, since they're kind of expensive, and I'm not sure if it was a one-off, or if some doofus is now targeting local bikes. None of the bikes within a few blocks of mine ever have covers on them, so I couldn't tell if it was a rash of thefts or not.
I keep my bike covered in order to get the whole out-of-sight-out-of-mind thing going on, but never thought that the cover itself would be considered prey. Then again, if it's not nailed down, some idiot will try to swipe it... Whatareyagonnado?
Has this happened to anyone else, either in Kits or elsewhere in the area? It's kind of a bizarre crime.
