I don't have much experience, but I bought a yzf250 last summer to learn the basics on. I plan to take the motorcycle safety courses and not cheap out on proper riding gear. Problem is, my family is saying it's way too dangerous and I'm gonna get myself killed out on the streets. They're not concerned about me going out and pushing redline, more concerned about me not being seen by other drivers, and getting nailed by a car. I've tried reasoning, but I'm 20, still live at home, and the parents are saying if I buy a bike, I'll be moving out.
Just looking for some advice on the subject, my parents are reasonable people, but I just can't seem to wrap their minds around this one. I thought I read somewhere that ~80% of all bike crashes don't involve any other vehicles?
thanks in advance
