For those of you that don't look around the other subforums a lot I'd like to point out that there's a new airport track day/night event that started this year courtesty of Team AFTICA. For full details go to the thread...
For those of you that never got to ride at Boundry Bay this was a "track" event where you run around a cone course and get some huge giggles as well as honing your bike handling skills. The best part was that if you overcooked your riding you could just continue off course and collect your nerves and then rejoin where safe.
The event is set up for riders of ALL skill levels. Do not worry about feeling like you need to perform. That is not what this is all about. There is a speed group to deal with any riding level and no one is there to point fingers and laugh unless you start it by laughing at yourself first. Not only that but there are skilled riders there to come out and offer suggestions or just to ride in front and provide a pace for you to follow and learn from by example.
For those of you that are more confident it is the perfect place to play hard in a safe environent free from radar and gravel and huge intimidating ditches that swallow bikes.
Why is this thread here? Because I'm a huge believer in the concept of playing with our bikes in this sort of environment so you can learn to trust the brakes and tires. This sort of trust and practice WILL save your skin out on the road some day....... That and I'm a mod so I can bloody well do whatever I want to do....
So regardless of your skill level be it fresh license or old racer get the Monday June 2 off and come out for a day of fun and frolics. It's well worth it. I'll see you there.
