I've got a 2000 model Blue-silver Hayabusa with stock engine and Carbon-fiber micron mufflers. The bike is very well maintained and serviced at the agency every 5000km. There is 40,000km on the clock and the bike has not been abused nor pushed to the limit. However I ride it fast often and rev it up but I'm careful not to bring it up to the red-11,000rpm or keep the rev high up.
Just recently I noticed a noise from around the engine which could be from the gearbox as well. The noise is similar to engine valves noise but louder. It comes while riding and not revving in any gear on the stand or in neutral. Even while riding, the noise starts at 4500-5000rpm till 6500-7000rpm when acceleration is gradual and soft. When the noise is there between the above rpm, if I flat the gas the noise goes away! I've got it checked by Suzuki mechanic and he claims that the noise most likely is from the engine and just by opening the engine he can confirm if it's from the engine or not.
See, I don't want them to open the engine unnecessarily. Do you have any clue where the noise could possibly be from?
