I recently bought my first r6 and realized that my bike doesn't run that well. I have a few issues that I hope someone could help me out on. My bike has a D&D slip on, k&n filter, and has been rejetted. Just last season the bike had its major service done where they changed the plugs, oil, drain the carbs, sync the carbs. I bought the bike 1000kms after that.
First, when I start the bike up in the morning, it stalls the first few times. I have to hold onto the throttle a little bit to get it running first and then apply the choke half way before it will stabilize. If I put the choke on all the way the bike will stall. I have to really play with the choke to make it idle just around 2000rpm range.
2nd, the bike will sputter around 4-6k rpm range on light-medium throttle. Ocassionally, when coming to a stop, the idle would be really high until i blip the throttle a bit and then it comes back down.
lastly, the bike seems to be running really rich because I'm getting horrible gas mileage (135kms before gas light comes on). Also, my friend told me that I was shooting out flames at some points in high rpms.
My thought on this is that the carbs have been jetted to rich and they also need to be re-synced. I'm really annoyed by the exhaust so I'm planning to go back to stock. My question is does anyone know what else I can do that could help solve my problem? Should I put back in a stock air filter, stock exhaust, and re-sync the carbs and go from there? I'll prolly check out the plugs to see if they are fouled. Is there anyway I can make some adjustments to the carb so that it won't run so rich? I don't know know what parts were changed but I looked at the receipt and it says 4 main jets were purchased.
