Laguna Seca: Moto GP US Grand Prix
Heading down to Monterey, Ca for the Moto GP US grand Prix for July 19/20th.
Going the long way via Idaho, Montana and Wyoming, then down to Portland for a week. Leaving Portland on July 16th, south along the coast to Eureka, then on to San Fran and Monterey and whatever looks good in between.
Then Iron Butt it back to Canada on the 21st.
Lodging, camping or route recommendations are welcomed.
Returning later now, so a little more time to enjoy the ride back.

On a 600 thats insane... cheers to you
Iron butting it back on a 600 is insane... you are going to miss so much.
Here are some route suggestions. I would seriously DUMP any and all BC roads in favour of spending more time on Oregon and California roads.
I don't have much of a choice...3 weeks on the road away from work is pushing it. I did Eastern Oregon/ Ca/ Nevada last year and am not in a rush to get back there. The major determination of timetable is Portland from the 11th to 15th. Everything else is flexible. I could spend weeks just on the coast if I had the time. I have family up north to visit, so Northern BC stays. Victoria for a day keeps the girlfriend happy, and gets me a care package of clean laundry. Laguna Seca wasn't the original destination...I just realized that I was close enough, at the right time to squeeze it in.
