Don't worry. It's not a poll.
One of my co-worker's relatives got in a MVA (car vs. car).
This relative was injured along with her two kids, one of whom was in a child car seat. The accident was caused by a guy who had a heart attack and died, hence the accident. The ICBC rep told this relative that her injuries and her kids injuries are not covered because ICBC does not consider this an accident, but instead an "act of god", though they did kindly offer to replace her child's damaged car seat...and nothing else.
I know we're all big fans of ICBC (re: impossible to keep on topic), so I'll restrict my questions to three.
1. Does this situation qualify as an "act of god" such that your insurance would not cover you?
2. What else qualifies as "act of god" and what are the consequences if you and your bike are on the losing end of a pissed off god?
3. Is this a new low for ICBC. (Now officially impossible to keep on topic)
Hopefully, one of the insurance guys on this site can chime in.
