What do you think is the best, or most important Japanese bike ever?
MCN has started this debate, and their front runners include the Kawasaki Z1 and Honda RC-30...but what do you think?
A couple of bikes that I think should probably be in the "best ever" group would be:
- 1985 Suzuki GSX-R 750 - this bike really started the full-fairing supersport race bike trend of the mid-80s which is still going strong (obviously).
- late '60s Honda CB750K - the Japs started building big bikes after this point.
- 1985 Yamaha V-max - There still has never really been anything like this bike since its introduction. A 'cruiser' that was the fastest bike in the world?
-1993(?) Honda CBR900RR - A big displacement sportbike that handled like a 600. No one else really cought on until the R1 came out in '98...well, maybe the ZX-9R was along the same lines.
