Hi, I have a question concerning my waterpump.
If the water neck on the waterpump cover is rusty at the base and 'moveable' and not tight, I am assuing air could be drawn in by the force of the impeller turning behind it. The neck does not leak fluid.
Could this be a cause of overheating at low temp, if thermostat/rad/pump are all working fine and system is full of good new fluid, bled, etc? I know air leaks can cause rapid boiling...(yes they have all been tested)
I am also doing a leakdown test this week just to be sure its not a headgasket issue, but I have none of the symptoms of headgasket aside from said heat.
Thanks for any imput.
