I saw a remarkable thing the other day while riding around the airport.
There is a junction where people love to park and watch the planes land and when they leave, their cars often kick up gravel on to the street.
A man had parked his SUV (with his wife waiting inside) and had been sweeping the street to clean it of debris. It was on a weekend and he was obviously not someone who worked there.
As I drove by I thanked him for taking the time to do this. Rider or not, that is a very noble thing of him to do.
If we all carry a broom while we're puttering around in our cages, we can stop when we see gravel in a turn (provided it is safe to stop) and do some volunteer road sweeping.
You could be saving another rider from a nasty bail.
