So I left my office and was riding off-site to a clients... I opened up on the Granville St. bridge going into downtown and next thing I see is red and blue in my mirrors - came outta nowhere.
So here are the details.
The cop wrote down the following:
"Speed in a Municipality" Section 146(1) - Ticketed Amount $138
"Excessive Speed" Section 148(1) - Ticketed Amount $483
but he crossed out the second offence
He also wrote down 111KM/HR REALLY BIG
All the info on the ticket is correct, HOWEVER he did not include my License Plate number on the ticket.
The cop was SUPER nice, he was telling me how he has 2 bikes himself and how he attended to the motorcycle accident on... Oak I think it was where the guy was split in half.
He informed me that if he didn't cross out the second offense that I would get my bike towed and impounded, license suspended for 30 days and ICBC would probably suspend my license for 3 months on top of that.
He also informed me (in a friendly manner) that if I attempt to dispute the ticket that he will uncross the second offense and the judge will side with him. If I pay the ticket within 30 days I get $25 off the ticketed amount.
Does anyone know if I can dispute the ticket and get away with it since he forgot to include my license plate #?
Will this ticket affect my insurance? I've got a clean record.
