So i finally got here about a week ago and I just want to clear some things up about the insurance around here. I'll need it for the bike and most likely for a cage as well.
Excuse my ignorance as well. Last time i set up insurance for my bike i just walked in and paid, i didn't really shop around or anything and this time I am looking for facts.
I know I have to get the minimum coverage with ICBC (through a local insurance company) but what exactly does that cover? (collision, fire, just PLPD?)
Does it pay to shop around? Like would the minimum ICBC coverage be the same from every insurer, then any coverage on top of that given by the company would be different?
How many people pay for the extra?
I started to call around but they were giving me these mega high quotes and i just couldn't understand what for. I deal with people in person much better.
And a tossup I could probably find in threads all over the forum. Who do you like to deal with for insurance?
Edit: oh and i forgot, When i called one place they said i would have to bring in registration. Where do I go to get plates/registration around here? It really through me off cause I thought ICBC did ALL of that and just imagined a giant super busy DMV that i could walk into for a day and come out with everything i needed.
