    Question Radar Detector Fuse

I'm installing an Escort X50 Hard wire cable, just wondering what rating of fuse I should use, if anyone has a radar detector could you check the fuse on it?(Any type of radar detector) BTW I'm thinking of using a 1 amp fuse right now.

1A is fairly large for the application. However you are really only fusing the wiring as the likelihood of the radar detector itself shorting out are nil. Use a glass tube style in the 500mA range is my recommendation.

i think mine is actually a 2amp glass fuse. just make sure it is as close as practical to the power source. fuses are for protecting the circuit, not the unit being powered.
