Alright, so it's been awhile since I posted, but I like to sneak a look on the forums every once in awhile. But be for warned, this is a bit of a rant
So today, I parked my bike in the parking lot at a local Rona. I went inside to purchase a few things, and when I come back, there is a guy standing next to my bike. I come to find out that he backed into it, breaking the left foot stay, and the clutch lever. Then he has the nerve to ask why I parked in such an odd location (the parking spot was occupied with a pallet of soil). This wouldn't be a huge issue, except a guy did the exact same thing a couple months ago. He agreed to pay for the parts (no labor might I add), and then bitched when I tell him it's around $150. First, he ran into my motorcycle, which was legally parked. It's not like I've got a grey motorcycle that blends in, it's distinctively red. Second, what kind of reasoning is that?!?!? A parking spot is a parking spot, you hit me, what the hell? Third, I'm not asking for any labor or going thru ICBC for the scratches on my fairings. He should consider himself lucky that I'm doing as much as I am.
I just don't understand why other motorist think guys on motorcycles are second rate citizens when it comes to ICBC or the rules of the road. If I screw up, I take responsibility. What frustrates me the most, is that I feel like I'm doing all the foot work, and cutting this guy some slack, and he, for some reason, is trying to say how it's my fault for having a motorcycle, or parking where I park, or that parts are expensive as they are. GAH!
