Langley R.C.M.P., C.N. Police and the B.C. Coroner Service are investigating the collision of a motorcycle and a train at the highway grade level railroad crossing on 96th Avenue just west of Fort Langley.
The eastbound motorcyclist passed several cars that were stopped behind the gate arms. He then went around the gate arms and was hit by the eastbound train.
There is no indication of any malfunction of the crossing protection. Multiple witnesses to the collision advise the gate arms and signals were functioning.
The identification of the deceased operator of the motorcycle will be determined by the Coroner.
