Ok, here is something I haven't seen here before. This Monday, September 15th, I'd like to call a unique, special kinda ride.
We are going to meet at 41st and Knight street Shell and then go do Annacis Island a few times. Why? We are going to stop periodically and swap our bikes with other guys.
Yes, you read that right. I've ridden most types of bikes out there and I find two things that come out of this:
1) you find out how good a rider you really are when you are on a bike you are not familiar with.
2) you learn a whole lot riding a bike you are not familiar with.
Of course, this isn't really for newbies, you have to know how to ride your/a bike, I mean really ride (i.e. control), not just go fast in a straight line and throw it into corners.
Thus, we'll do it this way. I'm sure all of you are afraid of someone dropping your bike (this fear will go away after your 2nd or 3rd bike, trust me) or wrecking it. So we agree that:
a) the owner of the bike can reject your request to ride his bike upon his discretion (but you can't reject everyone, or what is the point of coming).
b) if you damage it, you work it out to take care of it with the owner, some how some way. Leave that up to you.
Specifically for: All riders, experienced preferred.
Place to meet up: 41st and Knight, "Shell" in Vancouver
Time: Monday, September 15th, 6:30pm, will leave at 7:00pm
Where we are going: Swap bikes. Ride over knight street bridge, turn left at Wesminster Hwy. Stop at Richmond Motorsports to swap bikes again. Go to Annacis Island. Stop after the Roundabout at Derwent way. Swap bikes. And around Annacis, to swap bikes, etc... a few times. After, we'll decide where to go to sit for drinks and talk about each other's bikes.
Pace: Ride like a spirited Newbie. It's not your bike, so respect your ride. Slow pace.
Note: You MUST have your class 6, we are not liable for your riding or anything that happens on the ride.
If you are interested in coming, please post here so we know people are coming.
If you are going to post and rant about how this is a stoopid idea, or whatever, then don't bother, we already know that this is a heart attack inducing risky ride.
PS: Pls don't drop my bike, I have a track day on Thurs.
