1st Vancouver/Lower Mainland Motorcycle Skills Competition
I was watching these two videos http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bWaq0...eature=related and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UZBr7fXXsiU and thinking "wow, these guys have more riding ability in their right big toe than I do in my entire body" and then I had this great idea.
I would like to call the first (1st) ever Vancouver (and lower mainland) Motorcycle Skills Test (MST) competition. What this is, is that we are going to go to the Burnaby ICBC lot where the MST tests are done and use their course for time trials.
We will set up the course and do a reasonable facsimile of it and the person who can do it the fastest wins. Of course that means that no cones can be touched, or that trial doesn't count. Everyone will do the same course, and I'll draw a map and post the course here prior to the day.
What do we win? Everyone competing will put in $10 to the pot. The winner will win 50% of the pot, with the other 50% going towards video camera/tripod rental and video tapes (yes, we will video tape it and maybe youtube it) and for the expensive bottle of Icewine that is part of the prize (which I'll donate).
Specifically for: everyone.
Place to meet up: ICBC, Ingleton Avenue and Lougheed Hwy, Burnaby.
Date: TBD. Do you prefer a weekday afternoon or weekend? When we have a majority consensus, I will post this in the Events/Ride forum. If weekend, we don't have to wait for the people taking their actual MST test to go, but we'll need to provide our own cones in that case. Can anyone get 11 mini sized cones?
Time: Competition is from 2pm to 4pm. Whomever has the best time at 4pm wins. Practice time is from noon to 2.
Note: If you come and participate in any way, you agree to waive any and all liability against the organizer (me).
If you are interested in coming, please post here and tell me:
1) if you prefer a weekday or weekend afternoon.
2) If you are able to get/borrow the 11 cones.
Also, if you would like to come and volunteer to help we need two people. One will be the timer/time keeper and the other will video tape the two hours.
I'll set it up when I get an idea of whether there is interest and for what day.
Watch the winner be a Goldwing, haha.
