Hey, so my g/f's 89 CBR 600 has been gettin really cranky in the mornings, and I just chalked it up to the temperature change, perhaps it just doesnt like the cold. But for the last little while, it has been stored in an insulated garage and still wont start easily (whereas my 94 CBR stored beside it has no probs). The battery is fine, rectifier reg seems to be doing its job, starter is strong, and the engine is turning over, but sounds boggy. As of yesterday, a new prob cropped up...IT REEKS! After sitting for a hour or so, you could barely breath in the garage as the odour of gas was so strong. There are no signs of a gas leak though.
At first I was thinking that the fuel system might be de-pressurizing, but then one would expect so see signs of a leak, right? And if it is the carbs that are flooding, then why does it continue to reek after riding and while parked (even when the fuel valve is off). I haven't pulled the plugs yet (working on my thesis doesnt allow for much trouble shooting time).
Any help would be appreciated, as any big jobs can be done this christmas season!
