Yesterday when i was working on oil changing for my 01 R6. I stupidly stripped my oil pan drain hole by turning my socket the wrong way. Now the bolt would not tighten up and oil is leaking slowly but surely!!!
I did some research online, I've read that I could have a timesert or helicoil done to the pan's oil drain thread. Is this my only alternative ? Or do i really have to buy a new oil pan?
Also, i wouldn't know if its safe enough for me to ride my bike over to a dealership? I rather do it somewhere close like a local auto shop.
Right now, i am thinking towards having the drain hole retapped. Is this a good idea? Can anyone share their experience?
