Ok not bike related, but I figure somone on here must have had a similar icbc experience whether it be for a bike or car.
My car got damaged from driving in the shitty kelowna winter conditions (rock chips all over and windshield crack). I never even knew one could claim this kind of damage, but we can.
So i take it in and they start to tell me that i am insured with a 10% discount rate, due to no accidents ever and having my license for 10 years. But i had my license suspended for 8 month of that time, which means iam insured under the wrong rate (I dont qualify for this discount at the time the damage happened, by a couple months!!!!)
They say i will have to pay the difference multiplied by 10 for a penalty for being insured under the wrong rate!!!! WTF
Imagine 200 dollar difference insurance for a year times 10, just so i can make this 200 dollar claim.
What if i had gotten into ma major accident or something at that time, they would have pulled the same shit to try and get out of it....scary stuff.
Anyone have any ideas of how i can put some pressure on them over this?
