Fri., 12/12, Burrito Ride Extra, Seattle Motorcycle Show

I'M TAKING A CAR, AND NO GET TOGETHER IN BELLINGHAM. THANKS FOR YOUR INTERESTS.

Last year, it was snowing, so I ended up going there by car. This year, I'm riding there if the forecast is good. This is going to be a 2-nighter, as I was at the show the whole day last year.

    Post up if you're coming!

Time and place: Meet at 1pm, leave at 1:15, at Starbucks near Costco (Cordata Village). From Vancouver, get off I-5 at Bakerview (first exit after speed limit changes to 60mph), turn left to take Bakerview east, then turn left again to take Guide Meridian north. Cordata Village / Costco are on your left (west).

For those who wants to have a Thai lunch, we go to Pad Thai, will start ordering around noon.

Please come with a full tank. (Bellingham has the best gas prices.)

Route: going through Sedro Woolley, some backroads, then I-5 from around Arlington.

On Sat. morning, we'll go to the show starting at 9:30, it's a whole day deal. Last year, I went out for a churrascaria (Brazilian steakhouse) for about 2 hours, it was a good choice to go out and take a little break because I was walking around all day. They also have free bike parking and free coat checks for your gear.

Then we're on our way home on Sun.

We had that bad storm to drive through on the way home last year. Hwy was really slick. Felt like home for a prairie boy like me! I was getting frustrated at all the West Coasters that didn't know how to drive if slippery conditions.

Now I remember, frenchie and I went down to that, good ol' St. Nick chicken'd out, we went down in my Maxima, which is now up for sale ;o) what a shitty day it was as far as the weather goes, but being in Calgary for 15 years you kinda learn to deal with conditions like that ;o),
P.S. the weather looks terrific today is anyone going out?
Have you ever noticed, that people who drive slower than you are idiots, and people who drive faster than you are maniacs!

It's going to be sunny at least till tomorrow, too bad I'll be working. I'd definitely go to Seattle by bike if the weather is like the one since last Sunday again.

It was snowing last year the Fri. I left. The snow was so heavy between Blaine and Bulrington. Knowing that my rent-a-car got only all season tires, I was following a bus slowly at 50km/h with good following distance, then people still passed us at probably 80km/h or much faster, although there was some fresh snow on passing lane!

As I approached Bellingham, I started seeing so many cars fell into the ditch. Don't they ever drive to Cascades in winter???

Isn't that highway through the Cascades closed all winter? Think it is.

Last year was pretty crappy coming home, but it made for a quiet bike show on the Sat morning and early afternoon, which was great if you wanted to check out the bikes, and chat with the reps.

No lines, no waiting for 6 year olds to get off the bike you wanted to sit on.

I am going down in my truck, staying fri and sat nights.
Can be available as support vehicle if something happens or to bring back purchases. (to Sumas only, you cross the border with your purchases)
Check out Ambers, Seattle best meat market.

I bought my tickets online and paid $9.
I can't remember the coupon/discount code but I know it was thru cycleworld

I'll likely go down Sat morn, early, and stay Sat night, book my hotel with Priceline.com, stay right downtown where the action is.

It's an email I got from Cycleworld around Oct 18th with a discount keyword for $4 off.
I deleted it after I bought 2 tickets.

Your best bet is to print the progressive $3 discount voucher from Shane's post and then it's only $10 at the door.
