I just bought a used bike and so far it's great except for a very small (1 inch) crack between my windscreen and mirror in the plastic. I was wondering if something like this is likely to spread and if anyone had any suggestions for getting it patched up. Just wondering if this is something that can be done at home or if I have to take it someplace. How can I fix it and what should it cost me if I take it someplace.
Any help at all would be appreciated.
Will it spread? eventually... in a crash if not sooner
the el-cheapo method is to get some caulk at lordco and slather it on.
More expensive methods involve dedicated plastic repair kits or taking it to an expert.
I might be dangerous!
Why not fiberglass it from the inside?
rough up the plastic and use epoxy OR fiberglass resin with some heavy woven cloth and you're done.

Where did you buy the bike, and what coclor is it.
.....worried about the crack spreading?,then stop drill it.Drill a 1/16" hole right at the end of the crack.Works great on fibreglass and plexi, should be ok on ABS.Although this is just to stop the crack from getting bigger until you repair it properly.
It's a Black 92' ZX-6. I picked it up from Daytona Motorsports is Surrey. I saw it listed on buysell.com and I ended up chasing it down to the bike show on the weekend.
