Here's a little rant.
So, finally decided to post as I sit here at work crying about the snow.
I get my bike on Saturday at 12pm, super stoaked. Guy rides it over, make the exchange and he's on his way. I stare at it for a good 15 mins and then have to take off to head to a funeral. On the way, I'm in the passenger side of a car and I notice a bike... as per usual, I watch it until the second it leaves my sight. This one happened to be what looked like an enduro of some sort. Anyways, I am watching this thing through the side mirror when he makes a turn and BAILS! the bike slides out from under him, I yell out WHOA HOLY SHIT! as the guy slides across the pavement in the wake of his bike. Good thing is, I think he will be alright as he was fully geared up and wasn't going too quick as it was a full on turn. Nonetheless, his bike slid into another car and sounded like it took some decent damage.
So, after the funeral, I get home and see my bike parked in the carport, gives me a bit of a chubby, not going to lie. Change clothes, and go to try to start'r up for the first time on my own.. NOTHING. (see previous thread about starter if interested in giving more tips.) Spent the next 45mins reading the manual, posting on here, and going outside to make sure I'm not a complete idiot. Everything checks out, but still no purrrrrring of the engine. Also, it's cold as shit out.
So I decide to throw a tarp over it, bungee that shit downk, and wait until the next day to take a look at her.
QUEUE SNOW! from the big guy in the sky
Now, I live in Victoria. We MAYBE get snow here for a day a year, usually just slush that doesn't even stick. But no, we get -2 to -18 temps, with 15cm of snow that wont go away. So, I sit here, at work, day 4, reading forums all day, looking at pictures, and still continue to dream about when I will first get to sit on her for the first time.
However, there is this inkling in my head of 1st funeral ever (unrelated), a bike crash that I actually SAW, bike not starting, and freak snow. All in one day, on the day I get my bike!
Yet, I am still getting on in the first chance I get ahah Just gives me more time to find the gear that I want. Even though I still can't find a scorpion helmet on Vancouver Island to try on.... perdy sure we don't have them.
Cant wait to be
That's all I have to say about that.
