Hi guys, I just got back a few minutes ago from riding my bike home from University and noticed something very odd. The bike rode fine all the way there, so I don't know if it's strictly mechanical or someone tampered with the bike... but here it goes...
When riding I noticed that there was a weird alternator/fan type of whirling going on whenever I pulled in the clutch lever. The same sound would occur if the bike was sitting in neutral. I investigated it a little when I got home to my parking lot and found that the bike would start up the second you turned the key to the point where the lights go on without using the starter button. I also noticed that it seemed to be drawing from the battery, because while the sound was occuring (maybe starter turning on?) the lights on the dash would dim and flicker a little. If you're riding and you pull the clutch to disengage but not completely back the sound doesn't occur. After letting the bike idle in neutral for awhile, i thought i could smell a faint melting plastic type smell, but i'm not sure if that was in my head or not.
Bike: 2007 Honda CBR125r, all routine maintenance has been done, all oil changes, break in, yada yada yada... So what do you think guys? Did some little shits tamper with my bike while it was in the dark parking lot? It seems to me it's something with the starter or whatever, but I'm inexperienced so I would like suggestions what to check etc.
