So... I was riding over to my gf's place the other night and she was following me in her car. I was at a stop light.. it turned green, I rolled it pretty hard and apparently it shot a cloud of blue smoke out.
I've never noticed it shooting anything out before; however, it has kinda backfired I guess (nothing super loud but it sounds like a rough patch it burning through the fuel or something) from time to time.
I have read around a bit, guess it's to do with oil leaking into something it shouldn't. Since it's not doing it at all at lower revs and only happens when I rev it high in a burst, it apparently could be something to do with valve seals or possibly the piston not sealing properly and stuff getting past it when I rev it…. I dunno ?
So, yesterday I had it in my carport and it was warmed up. I tried reving it super high while in neutral, just a quick bump to like 10K… a pop sound happened and a flame shot out the exhaust. No blue smoke though and I couldn’t replicate the occurrence. I'll have to ride around a bit and check to see if it happens again, but I have a feeling it will.
Anyways, any ideas on what to do would be great. I’m going to check the oil level when I get home from work tonight and see if anything is amiss there.
Thanks in advance.
