So about lunchtime today, I realise I can no longer handle staring at my uninsured bike, sitting in the shop. So, off I go, renew the plate, and enjoy. By the time I leave work tonight, it's dark, cold, and raining. Meh, whatever, least I'm riding.
Anyway, I just have to go across Surrey to get home. Decide to head north along 132, to avoid the crazies on King George Highway. About 6 blocks from home, I'm at a red light, in position 1. I see a VW New Beetle rolling up behind me, and then the light turns green. I check my mirror again to see where he is, and hes not there! Anyone guess where the fucking idiot is? Yeah, he didn't even see me at the light, so as soon as he was rolling to a stop, light turned green, and he punched it. JUST missed me at the last second. He was so close to me, I coulda reached out and choked the fucker with my right arm. I lean HARD left, and roll on the throttle to give him some room, and THEN he finally sees me, and pounds on his brakes.
Moral of the story? Its early in the season. You think cars don't see you in the middle of summer? Fuck, WAY worse in February. Be careful out there.
BTW, the New Beetle was a "Geek Squad" car.
