Dad surprised me last Christmas by announcing he had built me a hot rod - a 1931 Model A Roadster pickup with 283 chev engine, 2 barrel Holley carb, Corvette headers and 8" Mustang rear end. He's big into Model A's, but this is his first street rod project. All the pictures are the people who volunteered time to build it, including mother, other family, friends, Lordco sales people, and even the Hydro guy who came to replace a hydro pole but knew how to weld.
The truck was almost done according to the pictures, but needed to be dismantled to do brake lines, fuel lines, and exhaust. We've since done all that, and we're now putting all the sheet metal back on. I was over there this wknd turning wrenches, tapping holes in the frame for the splash aprons & front fenders. Next week will be more sheet metal including the cab and box. Steering should be around that time, and some final wiring. We are close! I think we'll have it in the New Westminster Easter parade. Stay tuned for updates.
