Many times I have seen smaller lower mainland automotive tire shops loading 10 -15 sets of new tires into their van where I get my mail in Blaine.
The other night I was following a thread on Advrider regarding Canadian motorcycle dealers importing their tires from the USA.
This is a very interesting business strategy and one that I expect that most dealerships close to the border should be investigating, but..I wonder how many are? Equally interesting would be how many are telling their customers that these are in fact US tires, a fact that one poster raised as possibly of concern because US tires are not "thought" to be as good.
More importantly if you were a lower mainland dealer would you sell the tires you import at a bargain price, or continue to sell at the higher Cdn price thereby increasing your profits.
Perhaps this would explain why certain shops can sell tires at a much lower price than others.
So does anyone know what dealers are importing direct?
