Anyone got pointers on wiring radar detectors that have a 12v cigarette adapter?
I have it currently connected under the seat into a 12v adapter, wired to the battery.. but the cord is not long enough to the detector to the seat. I can't splice the cigarette adapter out of the detector, it is a special connector.
I'm thinking maybe hiding the connector behind the front fairing... but i'm not sure about weather elements. Maybe I can cut a section of bicycle tube, fit it over the connection, zip tie is and tape it to seal it off, then attach it to the inner backside using some sort of double sided tape and section of something like conduit.
Anyone got cool ideas to solve such a small problem?
This 12v connector I have... I am not srue if it's considered an outdoor setup or not... it does have a cap that closes over it, but no rubber seal.
Anyone have 12v ciggy adapters on their dash?? pics?? where did you get it?
