Hey guys, I have a quick question. Without turning this forum into a rant against all the things that have gone wrong at mechanics shops, please tell me where things are done right.
I'm getting sick of the treatment I recieve at a certain shop, and am looking for a new mechanics shop. I am going to be needing a valve adjustment and suspension adjustment at the begining of this season for my 94CBR 600 f2. It only has 41,000 km on it and runs mint. One of my friends has a 93 which has 88,000km on it and is still going strong, so I know its worth the maintenance.
Everytime I go to the old shop I used to deal with, they always suggest that an older bike is not worth the money and should be disposed of in favour of a new one. Oddly enough, they treat my girlfriend and her 89 CBR a lot nicer... I'm getting sick of this consumerist mentality. I also do a lot of my own maintenance now (valves are beyond my skill), such as cam timing chain, tensioner, chain and cog, bearings, etc., and have uncovered several cut corners (such as when I paid to have the front wheel bearings done, and they only did one of two, but charged for two any ways).
Are there any decent mechanics out there?! Let me know who works on Honda's and does a good job.
