Anyone know the differences between the Ninja 500 parallel twin 498cc and the Vulcan 500 twin 498cc?
There is a 2mm carb diff.... but I'd like to know from someone who has experience on Kawasaki bikes, what other differences are they aware of.
Cam? Valves? The Ninja has slightly higher compression, not sure if the pistons are any different.
I'm refurbishing a Vulcan 500... and would like to bump the hp on it from the stock rated 46hp to the approximate 60hp that the Ninja boasts.
What I might do is just pull the engine and replace it with an aircooled inline 4.... 1000cc. that would be some fun.
EDIT: Sounds like I need an inline 4 750cc... to power this bitch... I guess I need a donor bike for that side of it... and a fabricator to look at the frame mods to get this motor into the frame... and maybe a new backbone to put a Sportster tank on it... Hmmm.. something to think about. Maybe an SV650 motor. ... Hmm... I want around 80hp.
