That swingarm is a white elephant , it's there just for the sake of it. They have 2 uses:
1) For endurance races where fast wheel swaps are essential to remain competitive.
2) So Ducati Duncan can say "Yah, look I got a single sided swing arm, look soopah doesn't it."
Ducati had to dump the SSSA when Foggy complained it was causing premature tyre wear.
I'm very much of the thinking that if it has no valid purpose for being there . There are some things that just cannot be messed about with, swingarms is one of them, they got it right first time. I think the bike is just too much of a tarts handbag, do I REALLY need rim mounted brakes on a bike that light? No, do I REALLY need a SSSA on a bike that light? No, do I REALLY need wheels that will potentchily break or warp? No. SuperMoto is about function over form, it just so happens that the function looks wicked most of the time, I think it's about minimalism and performance not misguided technology.
So to steer me in the propper direction (Iam already convinced of what one I want but I like to hear it so I know it is right ) so I want to take a poll .
