Teknic Speedstar 1pc sz 46/56 - SOLD
OK, here is the deal. I bought this suit for $650US on closeout from Newenough in 2004; it is the Teknic Speedstar and I beleive it was from 2002. No rips, tears, snags, or scuffs. Knee pucks still mint...a bit of dog hair on the velcro on one of them that I have just been too lazy to remove. All zippers work perfectly. Excellent condition (even with dog hair).
EDIT: There are two cream/white scuffs now, one on each shoulder on the hard plastic thing...I had to drag it out of my closet to verify it and just noticed in the first picture there was a mark on the shoulder.
Asking $400 obo, and feel free to lowball. The fact is it has taken me a long time to post (it was stored at my parents place for a few years) and I want it gone. I leave for Africa the first week of April and really don't want to deal with it anymore so it would be nice to have it gone by then.
I tried Google to find some specs but had no luck, but the Speedstar is one of Teknic's better products.
Some features of this suit include:
• Anatomically pre curved racer cut
• Torso and crotch stretch panels for better fit
• Fully perforated on the front for maximum ventilation
• Zipper closures on wrists and ankles for snug fit
• CE armor in shoulders, knees, and elbows
• GP racing pucks on knees
• Double and triple stitching in key areas
• Full body mesh polyester lining (removable)
This suit is pretty heavy, and using my home scale there is roughly a 10lb difference between me and me holding onto the suit. It is thick leather, and it still smells new since I only wore it a few times....I had visions of going to a few more track days but I got into SM (street only) and never hit the track again.
The model in the suit is my brother, who is a shade over 6' and around 165lbs and it fits me pretty much the same (same height, 20 more lbs) although it is snug in the crotch when standing up straight. The tag on the suit says 46/56.
There is also a spine protector that will be going with the suit, assuming I can find it. It is a 7 or 9 plate protector, with a velcro strap that goes around your waist, and it is a beefy one not like some of the protectors you see out there.
