I couldn't find this using search or online...
- Are you supposed to do a full chain cleaning every time before you lube your chain (500 - 1000 km)?
Lubing only takes a few minutes. But the first time I cleaned my chain it took forever, but maybe because it was super dirty from the prev. owner. Just wondering if you guys break out the cleaner and brush every time.
- Also, won't the cleaning cool off the chain? Are you supposed to ride it a bit after you clean it then put on the new lube?
- How "dry" does your chain need to be after you clean it (if you rinse stuff off with water) / How do you dry it out besides running it a bit on the centre stand?
- Do you spin the wheel backwards?
Thanks for answering my "stupid" questions.
I did learn to spray it in between the links on either side to lube the o-ring part and not the rollers. And you also want the chain warm when you lube it. And wipe off excess lube.
